Good Morning Friends… As an artist I often wonder what it would be like to remix and re-master a track. I am always growing as a musician, engineer and producer… AND let me stress… I am not, I’ll repeat… I am not an expert in recording/production, but… I believe I am improving daily! 🙂
Through the Veil of Tears was written and recorded a few days after we lost our beloved Weimaraner, Aubrey. Goodness… just thinking about it in this moment makes my heart physically hurt. She was my little girl whom we tried everything we could to save her… but sadly she succumbed to heart failure. The night she left us… I have never cried so hard in all my life.
The days that followed her passing… we could hardly function… heartbroken, and the measure of pain was something I can’t articulate here. I wrote an acoustic piece of the same name as this track a couple days afterwards… literally cried tears in the studio as I was searching for comfort.
About 4 days after losing Aubrey… I woke up in bed and heard the words… “GET UP!” I bounced out of bed and sat down in the studio and wrote, and recorded this song in a few hours time. It was… a breakthrough moment. It’s about moving on from the pain and suffering of loss and let me also stress, I am not expert that area as well… BUT, in those moments of recording this song… I felt as through the sun was starting to shine again!
Also… not only did God bless me with this song… but later that night… we got Moose, our Vizsla who has challenged us on sooooooooooooooo many levels… but has taught me SO much about God’s love for me! Something I will treasure for the rest of my days… 🙂
